Facebook kauft Instagram: So löscht ihr euren Account

Instagram (AppStore-Link), der Handy-Foto Sharing-Dienst, gehört seit heute zum Facebook-Portfolio. Die Akquisition, die auch eure Instagram-Bilder in den Besitz der Zuckerberg-Community übergehen lässt, erinnert an Googles Youtube-Kauf und unterstreicht vor allem eins: Instagram hatte das Zeug zu mehr als „nur“ einem Foto-Portal.

Für die Übernahme zahlte Facebook gut eine Milliarde US-Dollar aus der Kriegskasse. Mark Zuckerberg schreibt:

I’m excited to share the news that we’ve agreed to acquire Instagram and that their talented team will be joining Facebook.

Und wird vom offiziellen Instagram-Blog ergänzt:

The Instagram app will still be the same one you know and love. You’ll still have all the same people you follow and that follow you.You’ll still be able to share to other social networks. And you’ll still have all the other features that make the app so fun and unique.
