W\u00e4hrend Googles Eric Schmidt im Jahr 2006<\/a> noch einen Platz im Apple-Vorstand hatte, treten die beiden Technik-Giganten inzwischen nicht mehr nur mit eigenen Smartphone-Betriebssystemen, sondern auch mit Cloud-L\u00f6sungen, Weltkarten, Musik-Diensten, Foto-Speichern, Sprachassistenten und wohlm\u00f6glich sogar eigenen Fahrzeugen gegeneinander an.<\/p>\n

Rauchmelder im iPhone: Patent beschreibt Auto-Notruf<\/h6>\n

Zuk\u00fcnftig k\u00f6nnte Apple sogar mit Googles Rauchmeldern konkurrieren (seit \u00dcbernahme<\/a> des Thermostat-Anbieters Nest im vergangenen Jahr hat Google ja bereits eine entsprechende Produktabteilung im Haus), darauf deutet ein frisch ver\u00f6ffentlichtes Patent<\/a> aus Cupertino hin.<\/p>\n

Im Mai 2013 eingereicht und zum 1. September abschlie\u00dfend bewillig, skizziert das Patent mit dem Titel „Wireless Device Networks with Smoke Detection Capabilities“ die Integration entsprechender Sensoren in iPhone, iPad und Apple Watch.<\/p>\n

Im einleitenden Absatz der Ideen-Schrift erkl\u00e4rt Apple m\u00f6gliche Einsatzzwecke:<\/p>\n

An electronic device may include a smoke detector. The electronic device may use the smoke detector to monitor for the presence of smoke. In response to detecting smoke with the smoke detector, the electronic device may issue an alert or take other suitable action. The electronic device may transmit alerts to nearby electronic devices and to remote electronic devices such as electronic devices at emergency services facilities. Alerts may contain maps and graphical representa- tions of buildings in which smoke has been detected. Motion detectors and other sensors and circuitry may be used in determining whether electronic devices are being used by users and may be used in determining where the electronic devices are located. Alerts may contain information on the location of detected smoke and building occupants.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ob Cupertino aktiv an der Integration eines entsprechenden Hardware-Moduls arbeitet geht aus der Patentschrift nicht hervor. Immerhin: Der Einsatz des iPhones als vernetzter Rauchmelder im Hosentaschenformat ist nicht nur m\u00f6glich, sondern auch schon so weit durchdacht, dass in den kommenden Jahren vielleicht mit einer entsprechenden Ank\u00fcndigung gerechnet werden kann.<\/p>\n
