Nachdem wir erst vor kurzem \u00fcber das -beim besten Willen- nicht nachvollziehbare Prozedere der <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iphone-ticker.de\/2008\/09\/05\/appstore-eingangskontrolle-pull-my-finger-ohne-nutzen\/\">AppStore Eingangskontrolle berichtet haben<\/a>, macht uns John Gruber von <a href=\"http:\/\/daringfireball.net\/linked\/2008\/09\/12\/iphone-podcasting\">Daring Fireball<\/a> nun auf eine weitere, und diesmal wirklich <a href=\"http:\/\/almerica.blogspot.com\/2008\/09\/podcaster-rejeceted-because-it.html\">\u00e4rgerliche Entscheidung<\/a> der Qualit\u00e4tskontrolleure des AppStores aufmerksam.<\/p>\n<p>Diesmal geht es um die von <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nextdayoff.com\/\">nextdayoff programmierte Applikation<\/a> Podcaster. Das App zum Abonnieren, Verwalten und Herunterladen beliebiger Podcasts, h\u00e4tte euch &#8222;over the air&#8220; mit aktuellen Episoden euerer Lieblings-Podcasts versorgt und so die t\u00e4gliche iPhone-Synchronisation mit iTunes obsolet gemacht. Definitiv praktisch &#8211; doch von Apple so nicht gewollt.Apples Absage l\u00e4sst sich im <a href=\"http:\/\/almerica.blogspot.com\/2008\/09\/podcaster-rejeceted-because-it.html\">Blog des Entwicklers<\/a> nachlesen und begr\u00fcndet die Entscheidung, Podcaster nicht in den AppStore aufzunehmen wie folgt: <span style=\"font-style: italic\">&#8222;Since Podcaster assists in the distribution of podcasts, it duplicates the functionality of the Podcast section of iTunes.&#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><center><object classid=\"clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000\" width=\"437\" height=\"370\" id=\"viddler\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.viddler.com\/player\/7f34d75\/\" \/><param name=\"allowScriptAccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"wmode\" value=\"transparent\"\/><div class=\"responsive-video\"><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.viddler.com\/player\/7f34d75\/\" width=\"437\" height=\"370\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowScriptAccess=\"always\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" wmode=\"transparent\" name=\"viddler\" ><\/embed><\/div><\/object><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Aha, doppelte Funktionalit\u00e4t also. Wieso es die zahlreichen Taschenrechner, Wetter- und Notiz-Applikationen dann trotzdem in den AppStore geschafft haben bleibt offen. Stevenf bringt es mit <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/stevenf\/statuses\/919364352\">diesem Twitter-Post<\/a> auf den Punkt. Ein \u00e4hnlicher Distributionsweg bei Desktop-Applikationen w\u00e4re unvorstellbar.<\/p>\n<p>Doch wirklich frustrierend sind die schwammigen Richtlinien. Aktuell haben die iPhone-Entwicklern keine andere M\u00f6glichkeit als ihre Tools auf Verdacht zu programmieren, um dann zu hoffen, den Zugang zum AppStore nicht verwehrt zu bekommen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-style: italic\">&#8222;Let\u2019s be clear: forbidding \u201cduplication of functionality\u201d is forbidding competition. The point of competition is to do the same thing, but better. Worse, Apple hasn\u2019t even said which functionality is off-limits. I\u2019m not arguing about what\u2019s legally or morally right in some abstract sense. I\u2019m talking about common sense \u2014 talented developers are looking at what is going on with the App Store and choosing not to write iPhone apps, out of the fear that their efforts will be for naught.
