Nachdem Google erst im September das bevorstehende Ende der E-Mail-Applikation Inbox zum n\u00e4chsten M\u00e4rz angek\u00fcndigt hat<\/a>, soll nun auch der im September 2016 pr\u00e4sentierte<\/a> iMessage-Konkurrent „Allo“ eingestellt werden. <\/p>\n

Der vor zwei Jahren vorgestellte Messenger konnte sich weder auf der Android-Plattform noch im App Store behaupten. W\u00e4hrend die ersten f\u00fcnf Millionen Downloads von Allo im Google Play Store innerhalb von nur f\u00fcnf Tagen erreicht wurden, schaffte es die App auch acht Wochen sp\u00e4ter immer noch nicht<\/a> \u00fcber die 10-Millionen-Grenze.<\/p>\n

Bereist im April des laufenden Jahres k\u00fcndigte Google daraufhin an<\/a>, die Weiterentwicklung des Allo-Messenger zu pausieren, um sich voll und ganz auf die Neuentwicklung einer Chat-App zu konzentrieren, die auf dem RCS-Standard basieren wird. Apropos RCS, da war doch was…<\/a><\/p>\n

Nun steht fest<\/a>: Allo wird komplett eingestellt. Die App selbst wird nur noch bis M\u00e4rz 2019 funktionieren – bis dahin lassen auch noch auch die bereits gef\u00fchrten Konversationen exportieren. Anschlie\u00dfend wird Google das Licht ausknipsen. <\/p>\n
